Tuesday Play Tracking: Ups, Downs and Thanksgiving All Around
Last week of regular season, only 1 team possibly playing next week so this is our big hurrah before we suss it all out
Rivalry Week is here!!
Let’s go backward to go forward, so here is last week:
Then we get to this week and can see the uptick:
And here is the raw:
An up and down week so let’s get into it:
-Only one team, in Army, with time down. And here is the crazy part, their plays go up. They are truly a psycho squard who went from 47 plays in Week 11 to 64 in 12. Week-to-Week who knows.
-LSU in a cupcake game has equal time and plays go down. But the story here is Jayden Daniels having a big day going for 8 TDs, 509 yards total and just having a day.
-Miami in a tight battle with Louisville ups the plays and the time. Mario Cristobal, we Stan a guy who everyone is terrified by what is going to happen in the final five minutes of the game.
-Michigan up both and a nail-biter against Maryland. No style points. No passing of note. No real game control. Is this your king?
-New Mexico pulled off the very rare no overtime, big win game that was almost 4 hours. Sidebar: Fresno State is struggling big right now, they were on a “MWC Title” push and now they’re just hanging around.
-The Red Raiders are, again, down plays and up time. Gritty game against UCF, which did cost me my streak in “That’s My Dog” for College Sports Now.
-What do you want me to say about Western Kentucky? They are the Apple Jacks of this group, they eat what they like.
Time is coming up, but time, compared to last year, is still down. Plays are up as we end the year but compare to a season ago, still down. I’m ready to get to the end of the year so that we can go back and check broadcasts and look for trends in that space. Basically are ESPN games longer than Fox games compared to NBC or CBS.
I am so glad my brother got me the formulas for this because it changed my life. Enjoy Thanksgiving y’all and the podcast should be up in a bit.
Cheers!!
