The Format: Notre Dame Can Climb, A Month Of Match-Ups
The Nittany Lions are lurking, Army-Navy-ND is the drama we want and SEC eliminating itself
Here’s what it would look like right now:
Oregon, Georgia, Miami and Iowa State get bye weeks.
-4 SEC Teams
-3 Big Ten Teams
-2 ACC Teams
-2 Big 12 Teams
-Boise State repping the “others”
Remember a few weeks ago SEC had 5 and a possible, which has been reduced to 4, currently. And that doesn’t even include all the team who still have to play each other. No Notre Dame. Army and Navy riding undefeated but not included.
We know they’re going to play each other, all three teams. Notre Dame, sitting at 12 and being elbowed out by Boise State, currently, is a real thing. They have to beat both of these service academies to have a shot.
But, they get help from the SEC and Big 10. Just win and guess what:
-UGA plays Tennessee (Two teams ahead of them)
-Bama can beat LSU (Bayou Bengals are ahead of them, but would Bama jump ND?)
We don’t even have to get into the Vandy, Ole Miss, Arkansas or South Carolina of being able to win games of this all. But every team above Notre Dame has a few games that will be problems, clearly. Then Vandy, Hogs, A&M or Gamecocks that are also potential, “Uh Oh” moments for UGA, Texas and LSU.
As for the Big Ten, with respect to the Fighting Irish:
